HAMBANTOTA: Zaka Ashraf, Chairman PCB Management Committee, held a meeting with the national cricket team before their first One-Day International against Afghanistan in Hambantota, Sri Lanka.

On this occasion, the PCB chief addressed the team, saying that he had great hope that with efforts and hard work, Pakistan will win the Asia Cup. After securing victory, the national team will carry this confidence and momentum into the World Cup, bringing the World Cup trophy to Pakistan.

PCB Chief Lauds Players’ Performance

He said that the national team was performing really well under the great captain Babar Azam. He has a talented team, and they are all well-performing in their roles. Pakistan has world-class batters and bowlers in the team. It has a good combination and there is no reason why Pakistan should not win this trophy.

Ashraf also said that former cricketers from Pakistan and around the world were supporting Pakistan as favourites for the Asia Cup due to their current form. He encouraged players for the upcoming mega-events.

Pakistan will play a 3-match ODI series against Afghanistan with the first contest set to be played on 22 August. The series will conclude on August 26 before the national team travels back to Pakistan to play the opening match of the Asia Cup against Nepal on 30 August.
