PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court on Tuesday suspended the 30 April by-election schedule on three National Assembly (NA) seats.
The court was moved by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) seeking to suspend the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) by-election schedule on 24 seats in the National Assembly, scheduled to be held on 16 16 and 19 March.
Scheduled by-elections constituencies
The by-elections were slated to be held in the constituencies of NA-18 Swabi, NA-25 and NA-26 Nowshera, NA-4 Swat, NA-17 Haripur, NA-32 Kohat, NA-38 Dera Ismail Khan, and NA-43 Khyber.
The PTI had announced resignations from the National Assembly on 11 April last year, moments before the election of Shehbaz Sharif as the new prime minister.
