BEIJING: Chinese state media blamed Philippines on Monday for repeatedly violating China’s territory in the South China Sea and spreading false information and conspiring with extraterritorial forces to cause problems.
The People’s Daily, in a commentary on Monday said that Philippines is depending on US support to provoke China, which is extremely dangerous and could harm regional peace and stability.
Tensions between Beijing and Manila have increased in recent months as both sides exchange accusations over a spate of run-ins in the South China Sea.
China claims most area of the South China Sea, parts of which are also claimed by the Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia, Taiwan, Vietnam and Indonesia.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said last week said that any miscalculation in the dispute with the Philippines would bring a strong response from China, and stressed for dialogue to address serious matters.

The Philippines’s move to bolster military ties with Japan and the United States, is also provoking China.
China has already expressed its anger at the US this month for sending a navy ship into waters near the disputed area where Philippines and China have had maritime confrontations.
The US has always used its defense treaty with Philippine to threaten China, and openly supported Philippine’s violations of Chinese sovereignty.
Philippine’s actions extremely dangerous
The Chinese daily has termed the Philippine’s behavior in the area as extremely irresponsible and dangerous.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Mao Ning at a regular news conference on Monday said China will not weaken in its resolve to protect its territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests.
He added that China’s door of dialogue remains open and the country is ready to work with the Philippines to properly handle maritime issues through talks.
