After the accident, regional Governor Rhodora Cadiao visited the hospital where wounded were being treated for their injuries. In a statement via social media, the Governor termed it a tragic accident.

Roderick Train added the search and rescue operation had concluded and officials would now focus on recovering the passenger bus.

Deadly road accidents and mishap are common in the Philippines, where drivers often flout the rules and vehicles and cars are often poorly maintained or overloaded.
