Philippines Showcases Indigenous Culture with “K’na the Dreamweaver”, at ASEAN Movie Night

ISLAMABAD: The Ambassador of the Philippines and Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Islamabad, Maria Agnes M. Cervantes, hosted the inaugural movie showing of “K’na the Dreamweaver”, a Philippine film, for the Diplomatic Community and Pakistani government officials in Islamabad.

Ambassador Cervantes, in her welcome remarks, said that the showing of K’na the Dreamweaver is an opportunity to showcase the Philippines’ indigenous heritage and culture to the audience.

She added that cultural appreciation ultimately fosters mutual respect and affiliation with each other’s heritage.

Member of the National Assembly and Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate the Honorable Romina Khurshid Alam also attended the inaugural activity as the Chief Guest.

The Ambassador of Vietnam Nguyen Tien Phong, Ambassador of Malaysia Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, Charge d’Affaires of Myanmar Aung Kyaw Thuya, Charge d’Affaires of Indonesia Rahmat Hindiarta Kusuma, Charge d’Affaires of Malaysia Mohd Syafik Hasbullah, Charge d’Affaires of Brunei Khairurrijal Hazim, the Charge d’Affaires of Thailand Kamolwan Sriposil and representatives from various the diplomatic missions in Islamabad also attended the event.

Traditional food including, Filipino food such as Pansit (rice noodles), Pinoy lumpia (fried spring rolls), and chicken sandwiches were served to the participants.
