PIA Begins Post-Hajj Flight Operation Today

KARACHI: The national flag carrier Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will begin its two-month post-Hajj flight operation today.

The first flight will bring Hujjaj from Saudi Arabia to Pakistan today as the post-Hajj operation will continue till August 2.

The first flight will land at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport at 3:35 pm. The pre-Hajj operations from Karachi to Jeddah by the PIA successfully concluded on June 23.

A large number of 61,467 pilgrims were facilitated through a total of 268 flights, serving a total of 41,000 government-sponsored pilgrims, 19,000 private pilgrims besides 600 staff members based in Madina and Jeddah.
It is to mention here that PIA started the pre-Hajj operation on May 21 and it continued until June 22.

Direct flights to the Kingdom were arranged from Karachi, Multan, Faisalabad, Islamabad, Lahore, Sialkot, and Peshawar, ensuring convenient access for pilgrims from different regions.

During the pre-Hajj operations, PIA’s achieved impressive 94 percent punctuality for 268 flights. Out of the total flights, an impressive number of 249 departed either on time or slightly ahead of schedule, ensuring a seamless travel experience for the worshippers.

Only 19 flights were hit by delays that were attributed to various reasons. Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer of PIA has also expressed his appreciation for the teams involved in achieving a high rate of timely departures throughout the operation.
