ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday said that current political, governance, and economic challenges had their roots in the failed policies of the previous government of Imran Niazi.

On his Twitter handle, the prime minister said that Imran Khan Niazi had always been about grandstanding and rhetoric.

“The nation is completely justified in asking Imran Khan about his poor performance in office both at the federal & provincial levels,” the prime minister further posted.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif replied to President Arif Alvi’s letter.

President Alvi on Friday had penned a letter to PM Shehbaz, urging him to ensure the implementation of the Supreme Court’s orders about the general elections in both provinces.

PM Shehbaz likens President’s letter to PTI press release

PM Shehbaz Sharif, in his five-page letter response to the president, stated that he is compelled to say that your President’s letter is more like a press release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his reply, wrote that the letter did not reflect the constitutional position of the president, and that is what you have constantly been doing۔ “Your letter contains one-sided, anti-government views that you express openly.”

On Saturday night, former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, while addressing the power show, gave an ‘economic roadmap’ for the country’s prosperity as he addressed the party’s ‘historic’ rally at Lahore’s Minar-e-Pakistan.

PTI president Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and other party leaders – including Asad Qaisar, Qasim Suri and Pervez Khattak – were on the stage.

Imran Khan lauded party workers and supporters for reaching the venue despite ‘the hurdles created by the Punjab government’.
