DUBAI: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar is set to arrive at Dubai Expo City shortly to participate in the high-level segment of the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP 28) of the United Nations.
His visit is marked by significant engagements, including participation in crucial summit sessions and bilateral meetings.
Upon arrival, Prime Minister Kakar will be received by the President of the United Arab Emirates, H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, H.E. António Guterres, at Dubai Expo City. The opening session of the World Climate Action Summit is among the key events on his agenda.
The high-level segment of COP 28 is a platform for global leaders to address pressing climate issues and discuss collaborative efforts to combat climate change. Prime Minister Kakar’s participation signals Pakistan’s commitment to addressing climate challenges on the international stage.
On the sidelines of the conference, Prime Minister Kakar is expected to engage in bilateral meetings with counterparts from the Netherlands and Estonia. These meetings provide an opportunity to discuss shared climate goals, sustainable practices, and potential areas of cooperation.
In addition to his diplomatic engagements, the Prime Minister will actively participate in the Zayed Sustainability Award ceremony, underlining the importance of recognizing and promoting sustainable initiatives.
