PM Kakar Reiterates Pakistan’s Commitment to CPEC Success

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Caretaker Prime Minister, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the success of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) during a meeting with China’s Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong.

The meeting, part of the Chinese official’s visit to Pakistan, highlighted the deep appreciation for the all-weather strategic partnership between the two countries.

The premier welcomed the Chinese Vice Foreign Minister and his delegation, emphasizing the crucial need for close collaboration to ensure the timely completion of ongoing projects.

The Prime Minister conveyed profound appreciation for the warm sentiments expressed by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang during his visit to Beijing for the 3rd Belt and Road Forum in October 2023.

The discussions between the two sides went beyond bilateral relations, addressing the regional situation. The Chinese Vice Foreign Minister expressed gratitude for the courtesy call and provided insights into various meetings during his visit.

China Satisfied with CPEC Security Arrangements 

He reiterated the strong bond between China and Pakistan, referring to them as “iron-brothers” and assuring China’s steadfast partnership in Pakistan’s socio-economic progress.

Earlier today, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong called on Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ), where he acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts towards regional peace and stability and expressed satisfaction with security arrangements for CPEC projects, a statement from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
