PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced to pay Radio Pakistan employees’ salaries for April and May in the next 48 hours.

“Is it the love to burn a radio station from which voices of freedom were heard and broadcast? Radio Pakistan Peshawar announced the good news of the creation of the new state of Pakistan to the world,” he said during a visit to Radio Pakistan Peshawar.

He said that the employees of Radio Pakistan could not get salaries for April and May. “I announce the payment of their salaries immediately. You will get salaries in the next 48 hours through the Ministry of Information,” he said.

“The memorial of Chaghi was also turned into ashes and not a single item of the Soot-ul-Quran Channel was spared. Very sad to see the condition of the historic building. Is it patriotism to burn the historical and national heritage? These memorials depict Pakistan’s defence capabilities,” he said.

He said that the tragic incidents between May 9 and 10 shocked the people, and these incidents caused a severe wave of anger across Pakistan. “These incidents shocked the whole of Pakistan. The martyrs’ statues were set on fire, and there could not be more anti-national than this.”

Prime Minister Sharif said that burning the place from where the voice of freedom was raised is an example of anti-nationalism, but the enemy cannot look at Pakistan with an eye till the Day of Judgment. Nations cherish their history.

He said that Allah made Pakistan a nuclear power because of collective efforts, and all successive governments contributed to the country’s nuclear programme.
