PM Shehbaz Asks UAE Businessmen to Invest in Pakistan’s Renewable Energy Sector

ISLAMABAD: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Pakistan on Friday resolved to strengthen bilateral cooperation in different fields.

The development came during a meeting of the UAE delegation with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad.

The UAE delegation was led by the Chairman of Hayat Bio-Tech and a member of the UAE ruling family, Sheikh Ahmed Dalmook al Maktoum.

During the meeting, PM Shehbaz said brotherly relations between the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan are deeply rooted in history.

The prime minister underlined that Pakistan attached great importance to further expanding brotherly relations with the UAE in different fields, including investment and trade.

PM Shehbaz welcomed Hayat Bio-Tech’s keen interest in investing in Pakistan’s pharmaceutical sector, particularly in vaccine manufacturing.

The prime minister also invited the visiting delegation to invest in the renewable energy sector. He assured that foreign investors in Pakistan would be provided with every possible facilitation.

On the occasion, Sheikh Maktoum stated they are aware of the vast investment potential of Pakistan, and UAE is looking forward to expanding its presence further in the energy and health sectors. He expressed a keen desire to expand UAE’s investment portfolio in Pakistan further.

The dignitary also briefed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif about their ongoing 1,200 MW power plant project in collaboration with the Government of Sindh, a solar and wind energy hybrid power plant.
