PM Shehbaz Reaffirms Pakistan’s Strong Support for Kashmiris

MUZAFFARABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to providing moral, political, and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people.
He said this during a meeting with Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq and a delegation of Hurriyat leaders from Jammu and Kashmir in Muzaffarabad.
The delegation comprised Mahmood Ahmed Sagar, Ghulam Muhammad Sufi, Syed Faiz Ahmed Naqshbandi, Altaf Ahmed Bhat, Shehzad Wani, Ijaz Rehani, Zahid Ashraf and Altaf Hussain Wani.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted Pakistan’s recent efforts to advocate for the Kashmir cause, including his representation at the OIC summit in the Gambia. He emphasized the continued support of Pakistan’s Foreign Office and diplomatic missions in raising awareness about the Kashmir dispute globally.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif urged the Pakistani media to effectively convey the atrocities inflicted by India in Occupied Kashmir to the international community. He also instructed the Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Amir Muqam, to enhance coordination with the Hurriyat leaders.
Sharif strongly denounced India’s unilateral and illegal actions regarding the status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He reiterated that the Kashmir issue remains an internationally recognized dispute pending resolution on the UN Security Council agenda for over seven decades.
The Prime Minister stressed that the future of Jammu and Kashmir should be determined in accordance with relevant UN Security Council Resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He rejected India’s attempts to evade its international obligations through legislative and judicial maneuvers.
The Hurriyat leaders commended Pakistan’s Prime Minister for his efforts in peacefully resolving recent tensions in Azad Kashmir. They also condemned India’s illegal and unilateral actions concerning the status of Jammu and Kashmir, expressing gratitude to the Government of Pakistan for its unwavering solidarity with the Kashmiri people.
