ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has said that the young generation in the country played a crucial role and government considered it as the future of nation.
The Prime Minister said this while chairing a meeting of the Prime Minister Youth Programme here on Thursday. He directed the concerned authorities the disbursement of loans to the youth should be tackled with utmost care, fairness and responsibility adding that special attention must be given to the youth of the newly merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the PM Youth schemes.
The prime minister also ordered for evolving a special strategy to get the targeted results from the skill development schemes adding that further training programmes should also be launched for master trainers regarding skill development to enhance their capacity and knowhow.
PM Youth Programmes
Earlier the officials briefed the prime minister regarding the PM’s Youth Programme where he was told that 550,000 people had been trained under the PM Skill Development Program since 2013 while about 56,000 more people would be given the opportunity to get high-tech skills in the next phase.
The officials further maintained that under PM Laptop Scheme, 500,000 laptops were distributed among the youth since 2013, while 100,000 more laptops would be distributed further in current year.
The Prime Minister was also apprised that under the PM Youth Business and Agriculture Loan Scheme, easy loans worth Rs 100.7 billion have been awarded to the youth since 2013, while about 83,323 youths were given the opportunities in different sports including football, squash, badminton, volleyball etc under PM Talent Hunt and Sports League.
The meeting was informed that a number of schemes worth Rs 80 billion have been planned in the PM Youth Development Package for the year 2023-24. These schemes include Women Empowerment, Education Endowment Fund, Business and Agriculture Loan, Tube-Well Solarisation, Sports Endowment Fund, Laptops Scheme, Green Revolution, Digital Hub One Window.
