ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended his greetings on the Saraiki Culture and Saraiki Ajrak Day being observed on Wednesday. He reiterated the government’s commitment to promoting local languages, literature, and cultures across all regions of the country.
In his message, the Prime Minister praised the beauty of the Saraiki region, highlighting its diverse cultures and traditions. He described the Saraiki dialect as “very sweet” and noted its widespread usage not only in South Punjab but also in Balochistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged the significant contributions of the Saraiki language and writers to literature, poetry, and music. He emphasized the deep roots of Saraiki culture in the ancient Indus Valley Civilization, spanning thousands of years.
Furthermore, he highlighted the role of well-respected saints such as Hazrat Bahauddin Zakaria, Hazrat Shah Ruknuddin Alam, Khawaja Ghulam Fareed, Salman Taunsavi, Sakhi Sarwar Shah, and Shams Tabraiz in enriching the Saraiki language through their wisdom.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to prioritize the promotion of South Punjab’s culture, literature, and art, underscoring their significance in the country’s cultural heritage.
