PMD Forecasts Rain in Several Parts of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meterological Department (PMD) has predicted rain-windstorm and thunderstorm in several parts of north Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), Kashmir and Pothohar region during the upcoming 24 hours. The PMD said that gusty winds are also likely in upper Sindh and south Punjab during evening and night.

A shallow westerly wave is expected to enter western areas of Balochistan from tonight and likely to affect upper regions of Pakistan on May 3.

During the last 24 hours, the weather of the country remained dry in most regions, while hot in southern areas. Mithi remained the hottest area in the country on Thursday with temperature increasing up to 42 degrees Celsius.

According to weather forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), partly cloudy weather with chances of gusting winds-rain during night and evening is likely in Srinagar, Pulwama, Jammu, Shopian, Anantnag, and Baramula while cloudy and chances of rain and thunderstorm in Leh.

Temperature recorded this morning in major cities:

Srinagar, Shopian, and Pulwama nine degree centigrade, Jammu seventeen, Anantnag ten, Leh one, and Baramula eight degree centigrade.
