PMD Forecasts Rain, Snowfall at Various Parts of Country

ISLAMABAD:  Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted rain-windstorm, thunderstorm with snowfall over hilly areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the upcoming 24 hours.

Dry weather is likely elsewhere in the country during the next 24 hours. Heavy rain with snowfall at isolated areas may cause closure of roads in Galiyat, Naran, Kaghan, Murree, Chitral, Swat, Dir, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Shangla, Hunza, Astore, Neelum valley, Skardu, Bagh, Poonch and Haveli from March 13 to 14. Heavy rain may cause landslides in Upper KP, Galiyat, Murree, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.

Cold and partly cloudy weather prevailed in most areas of the country during the last 24 hours. However, rain occurred at isolated areas in Balochistan, and south Punjab.

Temperature of major cities recorded this morning:

Islamabad twelve degree centigrade, Karachi twenty-three, Lahore sixteen, Quetta seven, Peshawar fifteen, Gilgit nine, and Muzafarabad eleven degree centigrade.

According to weather forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), cloudy weather with chances of rain, wind and thunderstorm and snow is likely in Srinagar, Pulwama, Leh, Shopian, Anantnag, and Barmula, while cloudy weather with chances of rain wind with thunderstorm in Jammu.

Temperature recorded this morning: Shopian and Srinagar seven degree centigrade, Jammu sixteen, Leh minus six, Baramula, Pulwama,  and Anantnag six degree centigrade.
