ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has resigned from his party position as party’s senior vice-president.

While talking to media on Wednesday, Khaqan Abbasi confirmed that he had resigned from the party position. He, however, stated that he is not quitting the party but would not continue as senior vice-president. “I have submitted my resignation over personal reasons. I do not want to discuss my differences with the party on media,” Abbasi said.

He was of the view that they should do something different to organize the party. He said that President PML-N, Shehbaz Sharif was yet to accept his resignation. According to the party sources, some senior PML-N leaders have been tasked to woo back Abbasi.
