ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) have reached an electoral alliance agreement for the upcoming general elections in the country.
The decision to jointly contest the general elections was made during a meeting between PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman at the latter’s residence on Tuesday.
During the visit, Nawaz Sharif extended condolences to Maulana Fazlur Rehman on the passing of his mother-in-law. Nawaz Sharif was accompanied by his brother, PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif, daughter Maryam Nawaz, and former finance minister Ishaq Dar.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Fazlur Rehman announced that they discussed the elections and have decided on seat adjustments for the general elections scheduled for Feb 08.
