LAHORE: Amid attacks from its opponents, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Information Secretary Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Sunday that her party’s political rivals could see that Nawaz Sharif will become the next prime minister after the February 8 elections.
Addressing a press conference here in Lahore, she said that the PML-N’s manifesto will be to provide relief to the people.
Marriyum said that all should rise above their personal interests. PML-N’s political rivals can also see that Nawaz Sharif will become the next prime minister of Pakistan.
Marriyum Aurangzeb Appreciates Zardari’s Statement
Talking about the recent statement of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari about polls, she said that his statement on transparent elections was “encouraging”.
Asif Zardari said on Sunday that he believes the country was moving towards transparent polls as he termed the present environment “favourable” for elections.
Zardari also expressed confidence in the Election Commission of Pakistan to ensure fair and transparent conduct of the polls, slated to be held on February 8 next year.
Talking about Shehbaz Sharif’s acquittal in the Ashiana-i-Iqbal Housing Scheme reference by a Lahore accountability court, the Marryium said that the former prime minister was vindicated once again.

Marriyum said that Shehbaz Sharif showed loyalty towards his elder brother and was accused of corruption in fifty-six companies. She added that he was accused of harming the national treasury with billions of losses.
The former minister said that Pakistan, after a tumultuous five years, is approaching one of the most crucial general polls of its history, which are set to take place on February 8 next year.
