Police Bust Gang Making Fake CNICs for Aghan Nationals in Hangu

PESHAWAR: Police in the Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday busted a group involved in producing fake Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) for Afghan citizens.

During a press conference, DPO Nisar Ahmad Khan said that a 14-member group engaged in the making of fake Pakistani identity cards for Afghan nationals has been arrested.  

Among the arrested individuals are fourteen people, including Village Secretary. Moreover, six individuals, including village secretaries, have also been taken into custody.

Law enforcement authorities are actively pursuing the arrest of eight individuals responsible for producing identity cards for Afghan nationals, some of whom are Nadra employees.

Gang Obtained CNICs From Elderly Women for Zakat Documentation

The gang operated by creating identity cards for Afghan citizens in exchange for 900,000 rupees. This group obtained NICs from elderly women for Zakat documentation but then used them to create counterfeit IDs.

Cases have been registered against the accused under the Foreign Ordinance, and further investigations are underway.
