ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Foreign Office said that on Sunday a group of foreign diplomats encountered an incident on Malam Jabba Road as they were traveling to Islamabad after their trip to the Swat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
An advance scout police vehicle was hit by an IED, resulting in the martyrdom of a police official. Fortunately, the foreign diplomats returned safely to Islamabad.
The Foreign Office further said, “Our sympathies are with the families of the Shaheed policeman and three injured in the incident”.
The Foreign Office said “We honour our law enforcement authorities that remain steadfast in the face of terrorists. Such acts will not deter Pakistan from its commitment towards the fight against terrorism.”

Earlier, a policeman was martyred while three were injured when their vehicle, part of a convoy escorting foreign diplomats, was caught in an explosion on Malam Jabba Road in Swat.
Swat Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Muhammad Ali Khan said,
“As a result of the explosion, Constable Burhan has embraced martyrdom, while three other policemen, including Sub-Inspector Sar Zameen, Constable Amanullah, and Constable Habib Gul, have sustained injuries.”
