ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal underscored the critical need for political stability in fostering the country’s development, urging collective efforts towards a prosperous future.

He was addressing the Golden Jubilee ceremony of Paigham-e-Pakistan in Lahore on Saturday.

Emphasizing unity and joint initiatives, the Minister stressed that adherence to the Quranic teachings had historically empowered Muslims to lead globally.

He lamented that while Pakistan was once a regional development leader three decades ago, other nations have since progressed by adopting similar policies.

Ahsan Iqbal highlighted Pakistan’s vast potential and called for nationwide participation in advancing societal welfare. He acknowledged recent incidents in Jaranwala, Sargodha, and Swat as detrimental to Pakistan’s international reputation.

Condemning terrorism, he asserted its lack of place in Islam and urged religious scholars to actively combat extremism and protect Pakistan’s image.

Furthermore, Ahsan Iqbal voiced concern over the humanitarian crisis in Palestine, urging immediate intervention by international human rights organizations to address ongoing violence and oppression.
