DAJKOT (FAISALABAD), Pakistan: A person Muhammad Tahir took the extreme step by taking his own life after brutally killing his wife and three daughters due to financial distress and an inability to repay a loan in Dajkot area of Faisalabad, local media reported on Friday.
The Dajkot police also found a note Tahir left behind, detailing the dire circumstances that led him to commit this heinous act. According to the police, Tahir used a hammer to take the lives of his family members before consuming poisonous pills to end his own life.
The note also foresaw the plight his daughters might face from others after his demise, urging not to trouble his brothers and sisters over loan payment. He said they would manage the loan repayment after selling his house.
The incident sheds light on the pressing issue of mental health and financial struggles within the community due to growing poverty amid unbearable inflation.
