ISLAMABAD:  PPP Chairman and former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has said that he foresees a deadlock in government formation “if someone is not ready to change their position”.

Talking to media persons at the Supreme Court on Tuesday, the former foreign minister said that PPP and him are adamant on their position, highlighting that it will not be changed.

“If somebody wants to change their position, there can be progress. If they are not ready to change it, I predict a stalemate,” the PPP leader said. He added that this would not benefit democracy or the parliamentary system in the country. He said, “If we want to give the PML-N votes, we will have to give it on our terms and not theirs.”

PML-N has not yet reacted over the remarks of PPP leader while his remarks came as PPP and PML-N are holding talks for last several days to form the government in the center and provinces. PML-N announced former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as its candidate for the slot of Prime Minister. PPP said that they would support former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

On the other hand, PTI also announced Omar Ayub as its candidate for the position of the Prime Minister.
