KARACHI: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is poised to establish government in Sindh following its triumphant attainment of over 84 seats in the Sindh provincial assembly, marking a historic milestone in Pakistan’s electoral history, sources local media.

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) secured victory in 84 general seats out of the 130 available in the Sindh Assembly. Additionally, it is anticipated to gain 20 reserved seats for women and six for members of religious minorities, bolstering its expected total to 110 members in the 168th House of the Sindh Assembly. Notably, from Karachi alone, the PPP clinched 10 seats.

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has solidified its stance in the National Assembly, securing 17 out of 22 seats, with 15 in Karachi and two in Hyderabad.

According to sources, the PPP secured 44 seats in the lower house of Parliament from Sindh, with seven of them coming from Karachi. Meanwhile, the MQM-P clinched 28 out of 47 seats in the provincial assembly of Sindh.

After the Election Commission of Pakistan released the “complete results” of the provincial and National Assembly constituencies, the MQM-P finalized its stance. In the provincial Sindh Assembly, independent candidates secured 14 seats, with Jamaat-e-Islami and Grand Democratic Alliance each securing two seats.
