ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Sarfraz Bugti claimed on Sunday that the party is poised to form its government in Balochistan province with the support of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), following the recently held general elections in Pakistan.

Addressing the media in Islamabad alongside party members Haji Malik Shah and Sardar Sarbuland Khan, Bugti disclosed that PML-N has conveyed a clear indication of extending support to PPP in forming the government in Balochistan.

With PPP securing 11 seats in the 51-member provincial assembly and PML-N securing 10 seats, Bugti emphasized that PPP is in a favorable position to lead the government in Balochistan.

While refraining from specifying a definitive timeline for the party’s future course of action, Bugti assured that PPP would soon finalize matters related to the government formation.

Nomination of Chief Minister Balochistan

“We will soon establish our government with the backing of our allies,” Bugti maintained, underscoring that the party possesses adequate numerical strength but has yet to nominate a candidate for the chief ministerial position.

Regarding allegations of electoral irregularities during the February 8 polls in Balochistan, Bugti acknowledged the presence of concerns within PPP ranks but affirmed the party’s decision to accept the election results in the greater interest of the nation.

“Our candidates faced unexpected setbacks in several constituencies,” Bugti remarked, acknowledging the challenges encountered during the electoral process.
