President Alvi Calls for Honesty, Promotion of ‘Made in Pakistan’ Brand

KARACHI: Pakistan’s President Arif Alvi delivered a resounding message of integrity and commitment to the ‘Made in Pakistan’ initiative, urging the business community to champion the authenticity and quality of Pakistani products.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the ‘Made in Pakistan’ movement in Karachi, President Alvi emphasized the pivotal role of honesty in shaping a stronger national brand.

President Alvi emphasized the need for a strong foundation of trust in all commercial pursuits, both within Pakistan and on the global stage. He commended the accomplishments of Pakistani products that had garnered international recognition by adding value to their original forms. President Alvi highlighted the potential for ‘Made in Pakistan’ goods to garner global attention and build a reputation for quality and authenticity.

President Alvi Calls for Addressing Societal Challenges

The President called upon the business community and the youth of Pakistan to actively participate in addressing societal challenges and advocating for local products. He urged citizens to prioritize ‘Made in Pakistan’ items over foreign alternatives, promoting domestic manufacturing and reducing the country’s dependence on imports.

Drawing attention to concerning statistics, President Alvi shed light on the mental stress experienced by a significant portion of the Pakistani population. He also highlighted the distressing fact that approximately 27 million children were currently out of school.

President Alvi underscored the importance of character and honesty, referencing the values upheld by Muslims and exemplified by the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.). He emphasized that business conduct should be guided by strong moral and ethical principles, ensuring that honesty remains at the heart of commercial activities.

In a call to action, the President urged collaborative efforts to promote charity and philanthropy, advocating for a shift in focus from amassing wealth to helping the less fortunate. He highlighted that Islam does not endorse the accumulation of wealth as a primary pursuit, urging the wealthy to play an active role in supporting those in need.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of esteemed individuals including Rizwan Jaffar, the founder of the ‘Made in Pakistan’ movement and the first Youth Parliament. Notable figures from the business community, including CEOs and prominent businessmen, also attended the event. The Secretary of TDAP, Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, and other distinguished leaders and notables graced the occasion.
