President Alvi for Streamlining Banking, Insurance Sectors

Karachi: Pakistan’s President Dr Arif Alvi on Wednesday called for streamlining Banking and insurance sectors in the country’s economic interest.

Addressing a seminar in Karachi, President Alvi said that the country could be steered on progress by following the teachings of the father of nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and adhering to the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

The President said the only way to strengthen democracy is to follow the constitution.

President Alvi said the increase in imports has negatively affected the balance of payments and called for focus on increasing exports to bring the national economy on the right track.

President Alvi says world now depending on recycling items

The President said resources worldwide have become limited; therefore, the world is now depending on recycling items. He said the flow of money is in the economy’s interest, and the banking and insurance sectors can play an important role in this regard.

He stressed the need to carry out insurance of crops so that losses to the agriculture sector in recent flood-like calamities could be compensated better.

Dr Arif Ali said there is a need to fully tap the country’s human resources potential by educating and developing its skills.
