President Alvi Visits Heavy Industries Taxila, Lauds Efforts of Indigenization of Modern Defence Technology

RAWALPINDI: President Dr. Arif Alvi on Tuesday visited Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) and witnessed work on ongoing projects.

The President was briefed on HIT’s production activities, technical capabilities, major Research and Development (R&D) projects, indigenization efforts, and recently undertaken initiatives to improve the efficiency of the organization, ISPR said in a statement.

He visited various factories and took a keen interest in ongoing projects including the manufacturing of tank and Artillery Gun barrels and systems and Bullet Proofing and IED protection of Military Vehicles.

President expresses confidence in Heavy Industries Taxila’s capabilities

He appreciated HIT’s efforts to attain self-reliance through indigenization and procurement of modern technologies for combat vehicles and systems. The President sounded his full confidence in HIT’s capabilities and hailed its commitment to transform itself into a modern defence production establishment.

He said that HIT is capable to meet the needs of Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs).

Earlier on arrival, Chairman HIT Lieutenant General Syed Aamer Raza received the president.
