ISLAMABAD: President Dr. Arif Alvi has approved the summary for the appointment of Senator Ghulam Ali as Governor Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.
According to the official sources, the President approved the summary under Article 101 of the constitution on Wednesday. The ruling Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) parties recently held a meeting and agreed on the name of the JUI-F leader, according to the sources with knowledge of the development. According to the reports, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has sent the summary for the appointment of Haji Ghulam Ali as governor of KP in this regard.
The predecessor of Haji Ghulam Ali and leader of Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Shah Farman had resigned from the post after the end of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government. After the resignation of Shah Farman from the office, the position remained vacant and Speaker of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani served as an acting governor of the province as a constitutional requirement.
