ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvia has approved the summary seeking the removal of Adviser to the Prime Minister on Establishment Ahad Cheema from his post, according to a statement issued by President House here on Monday.

A week earlier, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) ordered the removal of Ahad Cheema and considered it a conflict of interest before the upcoming General Election. Ahad Cheema is considered to be a close aide of the Sharif family and also remained the accused in the famous Ashyana Housing Scheme introduced by Shahbaz Sharif in Panjab.

Taking the instructions of the ECP, the caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar has sent advice to the President for further action. Accordingly, the President approved the summary sent by the PM about the removal of Ahad Cheema.
