President Arif Alvi  appoints Shahzad Atta Elahi as Attorney General

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi on Thursday approved the appointment of Advocate of Supreme Court Barrister Shahzad Atta Elahi as Attorney General of Pakistan.

The president announced the appointment of Barrister Shahzad Elahi to the position of Attorney General after Mansoor Usman did not assume office after the latter’s appointment.

President Dr Arif Alvi made the appointment under Article 100 of the Constitution of Pakistan and Rules of Business.

Barrister Shahzad Atta Elahi started his practice in 2001 and received his degree as Barrister from Lincoln’s Inn and LLB (Hons) from London. He has a professional affiliation with the Pakistan Bar Council, Supreme Court Bar Council, Punjab Bar Council, and The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn.
