ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi on Tuesday asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to step up its efforts to expose India’s nefarious designs and ulterior objectives behind its planned move to organize the G-20 Summit in the United Nations-recognized disputed Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir territory.

President Alvi expressed these views while conveying the letter of Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, the Convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, to the foreign ministry, for appropriate action on the matter raised by him.

Saghar, in his letter to the president, had sought urgent attention towards the Indian government’s highly controversial step to convene a meeting of the members of the G-20 nations in Srinagar and its far-reaching effects on the Kashmiris’ struggle for the right to self-determination.

Expressing grave concern over India’s plan to hold the G-20 Summit in the UN-recognized disputed territory, Saghar termed the measure part of a multi-front and multi-faceted campaign that New Delhi had been waging to generate confusion about the Kashmir dispute.

The APHC Convener said that India was trying to dilute Kashmir’s legal and international status, strengthen the notion that Kashmir was nothing but its domestic matter, deflect the global attention away from the real problem, hide realities on the ground, and promote its so-called normalcy narrative.

Using Summit for normalcy propaganda

He underlined that India was yet again seeking to use this important meeting to project its baseless narrative of normalcy.

Saghar emphasized the need for a massive diplomatic offensive by Pakistan in the UN, and other regional and international forums, to expose its nefarious designs and ulterior objectives behind holding such a crucial meeting in IIOJK.
