CHARLESTON: US President Joe Biden was interrupted on Monday during a speech when several protestors chanted and shouted, calling for ceasefire in Gaza.

The people were upset over Biden’s staunch support for Israel in its war on Gaza and called out that if he really cared about loss of lives.

They called for ceasefire in Gaza to support innocent Palestinians who are being killed by relentless Israel’s bombardment.

Biden responded by saying he was working with the Israeli government to lessen its military operations in Gaza.

He was speaking at the Mother Emanuel AME Church, where in 2015 nine black parishioners were shot to death by the white stranger.

Gaza Death Toll Swells to 23,084

The Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip on Monday reported that at least 23,084 Palestinian people, mostly women and children, had been killed in the ongoing Israeli bombardments since October 7.

The ministry’s statement revealed that within the past 24 hours alone, 249 Palestinians were killed, while a total of 58,926 people had been injured in the Gaza Strip during the more than three months of relentless Israeli attacks.

The situation in Gaza remains dire, with continuous Israeli strikes taking a severe toll on the civilian population. The Gaza Health Ministry’s data highlights the disproportionate impact on women and children, underscoring the devastating consequences of the prolonged conflict.

Earlier the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Sunday strongly condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ deliberate targeting of press and media staff and their families in the occupied Palestinian territory.
