ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi, in his special message on Martyrs Day on Thursday, lauded the unprecedented courage and sacrifices of the security forces who laid their lives in defence of the motherland.
The president said, “Today we observe Martyrs’ Reverence Day to pay tribute to the unprecedented courage and sacrifices of our ancestors and our security forces’ personnel who have made great sacrifices for the motherland.”
He said that the nation owed to the sacrifices and heroism offered by the soldiers and officers of the Armed Forces, including the Pakistan Army, Air Force, Navy, Rangers, Police, and other security forces that made Pakistan’s defence impregnable.
He said that the integrity and security of Pakistan would not have been possible without the valuable services of the security forces.
President appreciates soldiers’ heroism
The president said that the entire nation was proud of the valiant martyrs who displayed the spirit of fearlessness and patriotism in testing times throughout the country’s history. Apart from defending the state’s frontiers, the security forces successfully defeated the menace of terrorism.
He added that Pakistan single-handedly contained the scourge of terrorism due to the sacrifices and bravery of its forces. During pandemics and natural calamities, the security forces stood shoulder to shoulder-with their people and provided relief and support to their fellow countrymen.
