President Zardari and PM Shehbaz Stress Unity As Nation Celebrate Eidul Azha

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of promoting sacrifice, brotherhood, and selflessness as Pakistan celebrated Eidul Azha.

The day commenced with special prayers offered at mosques, Eidgahs, and open grounds across the nation for the advancement and security of the country, as reported by state broadcaster Radio Pakistan.

During Eid sermons, religious scholars underscored the significance of the philosophy of sacrifice epitomized by the prophets.

President Zardari performed Eid prayers at Zardari House in Nawabshah alongside Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and other PPP leaders, according to the party’s communication on X. Meanwhile, PM Shehbaz observed Eid prayers at Model Town in Lahore, as per Radio Pakistan.

In his message, President Zardari emphasized the importance of Eidul Azha and encouraged everyone to share the joy of the occasion with those around them, particularly those facing financial constraints.

He expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine and held Kashmir, urging prayers for their resilience against foreign occupation.

Similarly, PM Shehbaz highlighted Eid as an opportunity to unite people and strengthen bonds of brotherhood and fraternity.

Both leaders echoed prayers for the Palestinian and Kashmiri communities enduring foreign oppression, underscoring the significance of self-determination.

Meanwhile, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) and services chiefs extended warm wishes to all Pakistanis, as conveyed by the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR).

In a statement, they emphasized the spirit of sacrifice embodied by Eidul Azha and paid tribute to martyrs and heroes for their contributions to Pakistan’s independence and peace.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari also extended heartfelt greetings to all Pakistanis and the Muslim Ummah worldwide on the occasion of Eidul Azha.

He expressed hopes that the spirit of Eidul Azha would inspire unity and contribute to a future characterized by peace and fraternity.
