LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member Fawad Chaudhary says that the Presidential House will release an official hand with regard to the appointment of army chief.
He made the remarks after President Arif Alvi’s meeting with the PTI chief and former prime minister Imran Khan, adding that the handout would be released at 6:30-7:00 pm.
He said that the meeting between Khan and the President commenced for forty-five minutes in which the two discussed the legal and political aspects of the key appointment.
He added that all affairs would be managed in accordance with the constitution and law.
Earlier, the President arrived at PTI chief’s residence in Lahore’s Zaman Park to consult on the key appointment as the incumbent government named Lt-General Asim Munir as the next Chief of Army Staff.
Khan on Wednesday said that President Alvi would have a word with him before deciding on the key appointment.
He made the remarks while talking to journalists at his Lahore residence, saying that he led the party that Alvi belongs to. The summary the PM office sent to the President is yet to get the President’s nod.
