ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reclaimed his position as the world’s most popular leader, surpassing US President Joe Biden and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
Morning Consult, a global decision intelligence firm that tracks the major decisions of global leaders, released the rankings. Union minister Piyush Goyal announced the news on Twitter, calling PM Modi the “most loved and admired” leader in the world. According to Morning Consult, Prime Minister Modi ranked first with a 76 percent approval rating, while Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador ranked second.

Goyal stated in a tweet that PM @NarendraModi ji is the most loved, admired, and trusted global leader. Meanwhile, Morning Consult stated that the survey is based on data collected between March 22 and March 28. According to the firm’s website, approval ratings are calculated using a seven-day moving average of adult residents in each country, with sample sizes varying by country. South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol is the last on the list of 22 leaders, with a 19% approval rating.
Morning Consult stated that all of its interviews were conducted online with nationally representative samples of adults. According to the firm’s website, surveys are weighted in each country by age, gender, region, and, in some cases, education breakdowns based on official government sources, respondents complete these surveys in the languages appropriate for their countries.
The list is updated on a regular basis, with US President Joe Biden ranking eighth this year, down one spot from last. Out of the 22 countries, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala, French President Emmanuel Macron, and South Korean President Yoon Seok-youl finished in the bottom three.
