ISLAMABAD: UK’s estranged royal Prince Harry has accused his elder brother Prince William of physically attacking him in 2019, during an argument over his wife, Meghan Markle.

According to The Guardian, in an advance copy of his much-anticipated memoir, Spare, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, is said to have claimed that Prince William, the Prince of Wales, had knocked him to the ground during the altercation.

The two brothers allegedly got into a fight after William, the heir to the British throne, described Markle as “difficult,” “rude,” and “aggressive,” according to The Guardian. “The argument got out of hand until William ripped my necklace, grabbed me by the collar, and… knocked me to the floor,” according to the excerpts of the memoir.

The Guardian story focused on the claimed physical conflict between the two brothers calling the entire book a “remarkable volume”.

Prince Harry attacked at Kensington Palace

Prince William allegedly shows up at Nottingham Cottage, Prince Harry’s and Meghan’s former residence on the grounds of Kensington Palace, to talk about “‘the whole rolling tragedy’ of their relationship and troubles with the press.”

According to The Guardian, Prince Harry claimed that Prince William attacked him after he gave him water and made an effort to defuse a heated argument.

According to Prince Harry, quoted in the article, “he called me another name before coming at me. “It all happened very quickly. He pulled my collar up, tore off my necklace, and threw me to the ground. When I landed on the dog’s bowl, my back was sliced by the bowl pieces. I lay there awhile in a daze before standing up and asking him to leave.”

“William pushed me to retaliate, but I refused. William went but later came back, “looking sorry,” and apologized,” the book is quoted by The Guardian report.

Prince Harry’s memoir is scheduled to be released on January 10.

Harry and Meghan’s relationship has been the subject of intense media scrutiny since their wedding in 2018, with the Duchess of Sussex receiving the most of the attention. prince Harry recently accused the media of putting Meghan under unnecessary stress, which caused her to miscarry.

The pair claimed that constant media attention forced them to resign from their royal responsibilities. Prince Harry acknowledged in the six-part series that he “didn’t cope with Meghan’s deteriorating mental health particularly well.”

“I knew she was having trouble; we were both having trouble, but I never imagined it would go to that point. I was upset and ashamed that it had come to that point, Harry said, adding that he had handled the situation more like an institution than as a husband.”
