NEW YORK: Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, humorously addressed the ongoing speculation about his marriage to Meghan Markle, joking that the couple has been “apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times.”
While speaking at The New York Times’ DealBook Summit on December 4, the Royal was asked how he deals with rumours about his relationship with Meghan Markle.
When the NYT columnist DealBook founder Andrew Ross Sorkin asked Harry why he and Mehgan are rarely seen at professional events, fueling speculation of a split, the royal jokingly replied to a journalist, “Because you invited me, you should have known,” much to the crowd’s amusement,” the Mirror reported.
He alluded to the numerous unfounded rumours circulating on social media, often spread by trolls, about his family life.

Prince Harry acknowledged that the attention was “definitely not a good thing,” adding with a laugh, “No, that’s not a good thing. We have bought or moved houses 10, or 12 times. We have divorced maybe 10, or 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what?”
The Duke also shared his expectation that his conversation with Sorkin would likely be “spun or twisted somehow against me,” adding, “And maybe you will be trolled relentlessly.”
“For that, I can only apologize, but you did invite me, so it’s not my fault,” Harry further joked.
This comment came amid rumours of a rift between the couple, as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have recently appeared at separate public appearances.
