ISLAMABAD: Scores of students of public and private schools in Swat staged a protest demonstration against the attack on a school van the other day, which claimed the life of the driver and caused injuries to a student.
Unidentified assailants attacked the school van in the Charbagh area of Swat on Monday. According to police, the van driver was the target. According to police, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
The protesting students in Swat said that terrorist attack was aimed at disturbing the peace in the valley which was intolerable. They said they want peace in the region and will fight terrorism.
The driver was on a pick and drop duty of the students of the Swat Public School and The Knowledge City School. About 10 to 11 school children were present in the Suzuki van, when unknown persons sitting ambushed the vehicle, killing driver Hussain Ahmed on the spot and injuring a student.
The firing on the school van in Swat has left children and parents in a state of fear. A case has been registered against unidentified men for attacking on the school bus.
Meanwhile, a large number of people belong to various political parties and civil society organizations also staged a protest demonstration at the Haripur Press Club to condemn the attack on the school van in Swat.
The protesters demanded to arrest the culprits involved in the attack on the school van.
