PSL 10: Franchises Finalise Squad Changes in Replacement Draft

LAHORE, Pakistan: The replacement draft for the upcoming 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) took place on Monday through a virtual session, with several franchises making key changes to their squads.

According to a statement issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Peshawar Zalmi have drafted in South African all-rounder George Linde as a full replacement for Corbin Bosch in the Diamond category.

Meanwhile, Islamabad United have secured Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Carey as a partial replacement for Rassie van der Dussen in the Supplementary category.

Peshawar Zalmi have also opted to reserve their replacement for a Gold category pick in place of Nahid Rana, while Karachi Kings have similarly held back their selection for Bangladeshi batsman Litton Das, who was originally picked in the Silver category during the PSL 10 draft.

The PCB further stated that the replacement picks for New Zealand cricketers Mark Chapman and Kane Williamson, who were selected in the Platinum and Supplementary categories, respectively, by Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings, have also been reserved.

David Warner named Karachi Kings captain

Meanwhile, Karachi Kings have appointed Australian batter David Warner as their captain for PSL 10, the franchise announced in a statement.

The explosive left-handed batsman, known for his aggressive leadership and match-winning capabilities, will lead the team in the season.

Warner, a World Cup-winning veteran, has captained teams across the globe, including in Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL), bringing a wealth of experience to the role.

Warner was Karachi Kings’ first pick in the HBL PSL Players Draft 2025, held at Hazuri Bagh, Lahore, on 13 January 2025.

PSL 10 set to begin on 11 April

The 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League is set to commence on Friday, 11 April 2025, with defending champions Islamabad United taking on two-time winners Lahore Qalandars at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

A total of 34 matches will be played between 11 April and 18 May. Karachi Kings will kick off their campaign on Saturday, 12 April, at their home ground, National Bank Stadium, Karachi, where they will face Multan Sultans.
