PSL-8 Final: Cricket Fans Including PM Shehbaz Sharif Laud Brilliant Performance of Shaheen Afridi

ISLAMABAD:  Lahore Qalandars has become the first PSL team to win back-to-back titles on Saturday, beating Multan Sultans by just one run in an inspiring final match in Lahore. Skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi took 4-51 following smashing a quick 44 not out against Multan Sultans. The cricket fans including Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded Shaheen Shah Afridi’s performance, especially his batting. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif tweeted, “Another Afridi with such power hitting”.

Afridi continued his control over Multan Sultans’ bowlers during the final match and took his side to accumulate the 200-run mark by striking a six on the last delivery of the innings. Afridi remained unbeaten with his 15-ball 44, which featured five sixes and two boundaries.

After the victory, cricket fans lauded Shaheen Shah Afridi for his great performance and leadership qualities during PSL-8.  A social media user, Hamza Ijaz wrote, “Crowd Cheering Afridi, Afridi”. Similarly, Cricket Pakistan tweeted that “the King needs to celebrate the victory the way he wants”.

Lahore Qalandars’ official Twitter account tweeted a video of Shaheen Afridi in which, he was asking his team players to play till the last ball of the match and act like a team.
