KARACHI: Peshawar Zalmi posted a huge target of 200 runs for the Karachi Kings in their first clash of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2023 on Tuesday.

In the mega event’s second match at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi, Karachi Kings won the toss and put Peshawar Zalmi into bat, but the skipper Imad Wasim’s decision seemed fruitless during the whole innings where the Kings’ bowlers appeared helpless to stop Zalmi batters from scoring runs without much difficulty.

Peshawar Zalmi’s sensational innings

Star batter Tom Kohler-Cadmore helped Peshawar Zalmi post 199 runs on the scoreboard.

After losing 2 quick wickets, Tom and skipper Babar Azam helped Peshawar Zalmi get back in the game.

Tom scored sensational 92 runs off 50 balls. He hit Kings’ skipper Imad Wasim for 3 maximums in a row, while Babar showed his superb skills to hit boundaries.

However, the partnership broke after Imran Tahir showed Babar way to the pavilion after he scored 68 runs off 46 balls.

Following the skipper’s departure, Sri Lankan batter Bhanuka Rajapaksa came to the crease but he was sent packing after scoring 6 runs off six balls.

After Mohammad Amir conceded 2 boundaries in the first over, Mohammad Haris welcomed the left-arm pacer Mir Hamza with a boundary, but the stylish bowler soon trapped the young wicket-keeper batsman for a lbw with an in-swinging yorker.
