LAHORE: Pakistan Super League (PSL), 9th edition begins at Lahore via a grand opening ceremony at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on Saturday evening. The star-studded ceremony was followed by the opening match between the defending champion Lahore Qalandar and Islamabad United.
Earlier, Ali Zafar and Aima Baig sang the new official anthem of PSL 9, ‘Khul Ke Khel’, and received huge applause from the crowd. Both Ali and Baid performed the renowned band ‘Noori’ lighted up the stage with their famous songs while Arif Lohar enchanted the crowd with his performance along with his son and other group members. Other artists also performed in the event.
PSL-9 Matches
It is worth mentioning here that PSL 9 matches would be played in four different avenues, including Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi, whereas the final match and event would be played at National Stadium Karachi on March 18.

Like the previous editions, PSL 9 has the same pattern, where the first 14 matches would be played at Multan and Lahore, and then the teams would be shifted to Rawalpindi and Karachi for the rest of the event, whereas in total 16 matches. The playoff and final would also be played in Karachi.

In the previous eighth editions, Lahore Qalandar and Islamabad United each won the title twice, while Multan Sultan, Quetta Gladiator, Peshawar Zalmi, and Karachi Kings each managed to become winners for once.
