KARACHI: All-rounder from Lahore Qalandars Sikandar Raza has been fined 10 per cent of his match fee for a Level 1 breach of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) code of conduct for showing dissent on a decision from the umpire.
The incident happened during a match between Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators being played at National Bank Stadium, Karachi on Sunday evening.
Sikandar Raza violated the code of conduct on three different occasions during the game while batting against the Gladiators. He raised his arms, shook his head and gestured towards the umpire the ball delivered to him should have been called a wide ball. His conduct led to a violation of article 2.8, which deals with any player showing dissent over the decision of the umpire during the PSL game.
Later the on-field umpires Chris Gaffaney and Rashid Riaz levelled the charge against Sikandar Raza before the match referee Ali Naqvi imposed the fine.
