PSL 9 Trophy to be Unveiled Tomorrow, Multan Sultans Lose Two Key Bowlers

LAHORE: The winning Trophy of the ninth edition of the PSL (Pakistan Super League) is to be unveiled in a ceremony to be held in Lahore tomorrow (Tuesday). Meanwhile Multan Sultan faced a major blow as two of its key bowlers would not be available due to injuries.

According to reliable sources, the newly-elected chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, players of all teams, owners of franchises, and other officials will attend the ceremony.

According to the details, the event would be held at the Polo Ground at 12 noon, whereas the management has planned to unveil the trophy in a unique style that would feature horses.

The mega cricket event PSL-9 is all set to begin on the 17th of this month, with the opening match to be played between the defending champion Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United.

Multan Sultans Lose Two Key Bowlers Ahead of PSL 9

Meanwhile, one of the favorites of the event, Multan Sultans, suffered a major setback as two striking pacers were ruled out of the event due to fitness issues.

According to the PCB, one of the fastest bowlers in Pakistan and the emerging pacer Ihsanullah will not be available for this year’s season as he is recovering from the injury.

English bowler Reece Topley, who was also part of Multan Sultan, would not be available for the PSL 9 edition due to injury. The management of the Multan Sultans has also confirmed Topley’s unavailability.

Owner of Multan Sultan, Ali Tareen, has termed the unavailability of the bowlers a major setback for the side.
