PSX Adds 260 Points, Bullish Trend Continues

KARACHI: The 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Wednesday added 260.99 points, or 0.63 percent, to close at 41,611.42 as opposed to 41,350.43 points the previous working day.

The total number of shares traded throughout the day was 635,590,113, up from 593,437,368 the day before. The price of the shares was Rs. 10.525 billion, compared to Rs. 9.350 billion the previous trading day. There were 351 firms that traded shares on the stock market; 164 of them saw gains, 163 suffered losses, and 24 saw their share prices remain steady. The top three trading businesses were TRG Pak Ltd with 21,772,231 shares at Rs143.91 a share, Telecard Limited with 23,103,500 shares at Rs11.43, and WorldCall Telecom with 365,167,500 shares at Rs1.57 per share.

Rafhan Maize had the greatest increase in share price, of Rs. 550, finishing at Rs. 10,350, while Unilever Foods came in second with a rise of Rs. 500 to Rs. 25,500 per share. Sanofi-Aventis saw the greatest drop in price, falling by Rs. 89.23 to end at Rs. 1,108.77, while Allawasaya Textile experienced a highest drop in price of Rs. 275.70 per share, closing at Rs. 2,890.
