ISLAMABAD: Senior banker Farrukh H. Sabzwari has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
According to a notice issued by PSX on Tuesday, Sabzwari will assume his new responsibilities on November 18, 2024.
Sabzwari has 25 years of experience in senior management and the investment banking industry, both locally and internationally.
He served as CEO and MD of KASB Securities (local partner of BoA Merrill Lynch), BMA Capital, and Country Head for CLSA Emerging Markets in Pakistan.
He also served at CLSA Emerging Markets in New York as VP of sub-continent sales and at Credit Suisse in Indonesia and Singapore. He spent seven years in the organization looking at both APAC and Frontier Markets as Director Equities sales.
PSX press release said Sabzwari has served as Chairman Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP from (December 2018 to August 2019) and Commissioner of SECP from 2018 to 2021.
He is a proposed Director on the board of Hugobank and has been associated with it since March 2022.
Sabzwari has certifications from various jurisdictions, including Indonesia, Singapore, and NY, while he is a graduate of the IBA, Karachi, where he passed his MBA in December 1992.
