PSX Remains in Bearish Trend for Second Day, Loses 391 Points

KARACHI: After going down for over 150 points on Wednesday, Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued its bearish sentiments for the second day, where the 100-index on Thursday lost 391.59 points with a negative change of 0.94 percent and closed at 41,442.07 compared to 41,833.66 points last day.

As per details, a total of 49,251,803 shares were entertained on Thursday, whereas the volume of the total shares settled at Rs 2.52 billion.

Bearish Trend at PSX

In total 301 companies traded their shares in the stock market, 82 of them witnessed gains, 199 sustained losses, while the share prices of 26 companies were traded without a change.

The three top-trading companies on Thursday were WorldCall Telecom Limited (WTL), Pak Refinery (PRL), and Cnergyico PK (CNERGY), with 9,891,579 shares at Rs 1.13 per share, 7,526,334 shares at Rs13.96 per share, and with 6,661,810 shares at Rs 3.43 per share respectively.

According to economic experts, the market would still remain under pressure due to the ongoing uncertain situation till the government initiate some steps ahead of the fiscal budget, including talks on the bail-out package with the IMF.
